Virgin Hair: This is hair that has never been processed either by dying, perming, bleaching, or the use of chemicals. It is usually obtained from one donor or person. Virgin Hair has aligned cuticles meaning the hair cuticles all run in the same direction. This explains the smoothness and quality of virgin hair.
Remy Hair: This is hair with all characteristics defined above for virgin hair. It is more expensive and of good quality due to the alignment of cuticles in one direction. Remy hair is high quality hair with little or no tangle.
Non-Remy Hair: This is hair that has been tampered with. It usually is collected from multiple donors (different people) and has cuticles running in different directions. To improve on the quality of Non-Remy hair, chemical processing is required reason why Non-Remy hair is of lower quality and therefore less expensive.
